The Golden State Warriors, facing the seemingly overmatched San Antonio Spurs, who had nothing to play for, stumbled into another nail-biter that would test their championship mettle.
The shocking conclusion came when Harrison Barnes drained a fadeaway 3-pointer at the buzzer that sealed a Golden State loss.
It represented another painful chapter in a Warriors season filled with missed opportunities and late collapses.
FOX Sports host Chris Broussard didn’t mince words when assessing the damage of this defeat.
“I said it I think when they lost to Miami a couple weeks ago, horrific loss, and that’s what this was. I mean, San Antonio had lost eight of their last nine games, and you let them come into your building and beat you?” Broussard said on “First Things First.”

The Warriors’ collapse was particularly frustrating given how the game unfolded.
Despite building a 14-point advantage in the first quarter, Golden State couldn’t put away San Antonio, which refused to back down despite having nothing left to play for in the standings.
What should have been a comfortable win transformed into a thrilling back-and-forth contest.
Stephen Curry delivered another stellar performance with 30 points, and Jimmy Butler added 28 points, but neither star provided enough to overcome the Warriors’ inability to close out crucial contests.
Broussard noted that while the Warriors’ playoff path remains viable, their performances against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks reveal concerning vulnerabilities.
Though Golden State might survive the play-in tournament, the fatigue factor could loom large for aging stars like Draymond Green, Curry and Butler.
